Showcase: When the ferry is out of service

Small charters are required for all kinds of reasons.

Recently, six boxes with 184 kilos oil well equipment, including some radio active material, were to be moved from Scotland to a drilling platform off the coast of Ireland.

The normal way to transport the goods is by ferry. But unfortunately, the ferry which accepts radio active material was out for maintenance. Our small charter team in Luxembourg communicated with the Panalpina team in Aberdeen and made a plan.

Our own-controlled Cessna 404 has the necessary permits to carry this material and was available to position early morning to Aberdeen, where the goods had arrived at the airport.
Quick loading followed before the Cessna 404 cargo aircraft, the only one of its kind in Europe, left on a three hours flight to the airport of Cork.

Also, a truck was ready there to drive to the harbor, from were the equipment started the last part of its voyage: straight to the platform ‘Petrolia’.
